Security & Privacy

Your data. Your device. Your control.

Soli uses local‑first architecture to give you maximum privacy and control over your practice data—HIPAA‑compliant by default and automatically encrypted.

Red panda dressed as a security guard

What local‑first means for your practice.

Most software stores your data on their servers. Soli is different.

Your data lives on your computer

  • Client information, forms, notes—encrypted on your device
  • You control who can access it
  • Works offline for core features

Optional cloud services

  • Soli Backup+$5/month
    Encrypted cloud backup
  • Multi‑device sync — for multiple computers

Why this matters

  • Better privacy — not sitting on shared servers
  • You’re in control — not dependent on cloud access
  • Lower costs — fewer centralized infra costs

Security built in, not bolted on.

What Soli does every day, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Everyday security

  • Soli encrypts your practice data on your devices and in backup by default.
  • Only you and your team can see client information—not Soli staff.
  • Every tool is built to be HIPAA‑ready, with a BAA included when you sign up.

If something goes wrong

  • If your computer crashes, you can restore your data from Soli Backup or your own backups.
  • If a device is stolen, you revoke access and your encrypted data stays unreadable.
  • If you cancel your account, your data stays on your device and you have 30 days to export anything stored in the cloud.
Soli protects your data—threats defeated

Simple steps to keep your practice data secure.

  • Use a strong password for your Soli account and computer.
  • Turn on two‑factor authentication.
  • Lock your computer when you step away.
  • Turn on Soli Backup or use local external backups.
  • Keep your operating system up to date.
  • That’s it—Soli handles the rest.

Security with multiple users.

Role‑based permissions

  • Admins see everything.
  • Clinicians see only their own clients.
  • Support staff get limited access.

Audit logs & easy management

Track who accessed what and when—required for HIPAA, built in automatically.

Add users, remove users, and adjust permissions from your admin dashboard.

Security FAQ

Is Soli HIPAA‑compliant?

Yes. Every tool is HIPAA‑compliant by default with encryption, audit logs, and a Business Associate Agreement included when you sign up.

Can Soli staff see my client data?

No. We can’t access your data—even if we wanted to. With local‑first and client‑side encryption, only you have the keys.

Do I need cloud backup?

It’s optional but recommended. If your computer crashes and you don’t have backups, you could lose data.

What happens if Soli gets hacked?

Your local data stays safe because it lives encrypted on your device. If you use Soli Backup, uploaded data is encrypted with keys only you have.

Security you don’t have to think about.

Soli handles the complex security stuff so you can focus on your clients.
