We don't want your data.
In an era of data mining and breaches, we chose a different path. Soli is built on a 'local-first' philosophy that keeps you in control.

Why we keep it local
Most modern software is "cloud-first," meaning your data lives on a server owned by a company (and usually hosted by Amazon or Google). You are renting access to it.
Soli is local-first. The primary copy of your database lives on your computer's hard drive. It is physically in your possession. This significantly reduces the risk of a massive central data breach.
Your data is safe
Storing data locally isn't enough if it's not secure. Soli protects your local database using industry-standard bank-grade security.
Even if someone stole your laptop and accessed the file system, they would see only gibberish without your password.

A Note on HIPAA
We built Soli with HIPAA considerations at the core of our engineering. By keeping data local and encrypted, we minimize the risk.
"No software can make you 'HIPAA compliant' automatically. Compliance is a combination of the tools you use and the habits you form."
Because Soli stores data on your device, you play a larger role in security than with a cloud-only app. You must ensure your computer is password-protected, your hard drive is encrypted (e.g., FileVault on Mac), and you manage your backups securely.
For features that do touch the cloud (like secure client messaging or optional sync), we maintain strict security protocols and will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with your practice.
Security you can verify.
