Make private practice feel sustainable.
We’re building a calmer practice workspace for mental health clinicians—one that respects how small practices actually operate, and helps you keep the business side organized without turning it into your second job.

The short version
Soli began the way a lot of meaningful things begin: not with a business plan, but with a quiet season that was harder than it should’ve been.
Someone we love stepped into private practice—smart, capable, deeply committed to doing the work well—and we watched the business side start to crowd out the clinical side. Not because she wasn’t ready. Not because she lacked skill. Because the systems around her were loud, expensive, and built for a different kind of practice.
That’s where Soli started.
The moment we couldn’t ignore anymore
There’s a specific feeling that shows up when you’re building a practice alone: you finish a session and you don’t exhale—you brace. Notes. Paperwork. Billing. Messages. Policies. A dozen small tasks that each feel “not that hard,” yet somehow add up to something heavy.
What surprised us wasn’t the workload. It was the way it stole the good parts of the work. The part where you feel grounded after a session. The part where you close your laptop and feel like you did something meaningful. Instead, the day ended with a second shift.
And it didn’t take long before the software became part of that burden.

The tools that were supposed to help… didn’t
We did what most new practice owners do: we looked at what everyone recommends. The “industry standard” platforms. The ones that look polished on the outside.
But in real life, the experience was different. The pricing felt like a stretch. The setup felt like homework. The interface felt like it expected you to think like an admin team, not a clinician. And the more “powerful” the systems were, the more they seemed to ask for—more configuration, more clicking, more time, more patience.
It was the kind of frustration that doesn’t make a dramatic scene. It just quietly follows you into the evening.
The real reason Soli exists
Soli isn’t built because we thought the world needed another software company.
It’s built because we couldn’t accept that the “cost of doing private practice” had to include constant admin stress, bloated tools, and the feeling of paying for complexity you didn’t ask for. We couldn’t accept that starting small meant choosing between “overpay for enterprise software” or “hold everything together with memory and sticky notes.”
Soli was our attempt to build the thing we wished existed in that season: a calm workspace that makes a practice feel manageable again.

The philosophy we built around
We’re local-first because we believe sensitive work deserves a different default. Not because we’re trying to be trendy—because we’ve seen how much anxiety the wrong defaults create.
Soli is subscription-based because small practices need something they can start with and grow with—without a massive upfront leap.
And we’re honest about tradeoffs: Soli can support core work when you’re offline, but things like client communication, optional backup/sync, and integrations require being online. We’d rather be clear than clever.
What we’re building, really
We’re building for the clinician who’s doing something brave: creating a practice that’s sustainable, ethical, and human.
We’re building for the “little guy” who wants to do this well, but doesn’t have unlimited time, unlimited money, or unlimited tolerance for bloat.
And we’re building with a lot of respect for what your work costs you—emotionally, cognitively, and logistically.
A word from the founders
If you’ve ever felt behind before the day even starts… if you’ve ever stayed late not because the work demanded it, but because the admin didn’t stop… if you’ve ever wondered why running a practice has to feel this heavy—Soli is for you.
We’re not here to impress you with software language. We’re here to make the business side quieter, cleaner, and more stable—so you can keep your energy for the work you actually chose.
Thank you for letting us build this alongside you.
