Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about switching to a local-first practice, privacy, and how Soli works.

It comes down to our local-first technology. Because we don't have to pay for massive cloud server farms to store your data, our overhead is much lower. We pass those savings directly to you.
Your base subscription covers all core features (notes, scheduling, basic billing). However, optional third-party services like credit card processing, SMS reminders, or insurance claim filing may have small usage-based fees. We keep these separate so you only pay for what you actually use, keeping your monthly subscription lower.
Soli is designed with HIPAA safeguards at its core, including bank-grade encryption, access controls, and audit logs. We provide the technical tools you need to run a compliant practice.
No. Soli is a 'local-first' application. Your client data, notes, and billing information are stored directly on your device. We (the company) do not have access to your clinical records.
Yes. Soli supports encrypted peer-to-peer syncing between your devices (e.g., your laptop and your desktop). This syncing is end-to-end encrypted, meaning we cannot read the data as it moves between your devices.
Because your data is encrypted at rest, a thief cannot access your files without your password. To prevent data loss, Soli includes a simple encrypted backup tool that allows you to save backups to an external drive or a secure cloud storage provider of your choice.
Yes. We offer import tools for common platforms like SimplePractice and TherapyNotes. You can import client demographics and contact information via CSV. Note migration may require additional steps depending on the source format.
Not yet. To keep Soli lightweight and focused on practice management, we recommend using a specialized, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform (like Zoom for Healthcare or Doxy.me) alongside Soli.
Soli generates CMS-1500 forms and superbills that you can download or print. We do not currently integrate directly with clearinghouses for electronic claim submission, but this is on our roadmap.
We are currently developing a companion mobile app for iOS and Android. Join the waitlist to be notified when it's ready for beta testing.
You are in control of your backups. Soli can automatically create encrypted backup files on a schedule you set. You can save these to a USB drive, a secure cloud folder (like Box or Google Drive), or a local network drive.
Yes! Soli's Group plan adds features for multi-clinician practices, including role-based access control, supervisor reviews, and practice-wide reporting.
